She’s fearless in the ring, a protective momma bear who fights for her kids, and her body is all kinds of goals. Michelle Waterson is used to dominating the octagon – yeah, so Carla Esparza got handed a controversial split decision at UFC 249 in her clash with Waterson – but away from the ring, she gives fans daily doses of inspiration.

Nude and proud as hell

The MMA star joined the ranks of Ronda Rousey, Miesha Tate and Conor McGregor when she posed nude for ESPN’s annual body issue back in 2017. The snaps showed-off her perfectly toned physique, leaving very little to the imagination.

About that ‘ karate hottie’ nickname …

Just because she’s a fighting machine in the ring, doesn’t mean she doesn’t like being appreciated for her looks. In fact, Waterson said she thinks the nickname is “catchy”. Don’t think her banging body and all the attention makes her soft in the ring. In fact, this king kicker welcomes opponents underestimating her because of her nickname. Yup, bring it on.

She thinks she does lose her hotness though

Obviously being a hottie isn’t her first priority. The UFC star totally realises that her body is bound to go through changes when she’s in fight mode. “You lose body fat, and that means you lose breast tissue. Your shoulders get broad, and you get scraped from the gloves,” she told ESPN.

Hot or not, the focus is on a power body

Ahead of UFC 249 and faced with training during lockdown, Waterson said her house was fight camp ready, with cardio equipment, weights mats and bags.

Being a mum is also a priority

If you think watching a UFC fight is painful, Waterson says she’d take the ring over childbirth any day. Oh, and once she had her kid, she had even more reason to fight, explaining that she became a “mama bear and someone was trying to take my cub”.
