How to open a Jiji account

You will be happy to know that registration is free. You can have your account and start to advertise on Jiji within minutes. To launch the Jiji account:

  • Go to Jiji signup page.
  • You have several options to use for signing up; you can do it via your Google account, Facebook or fill out the details manually.
  • Then create a strong and unique password for the account.
  • When you are through filling the blanks, click Register.
  • You will be forwarded to your profile. Here, you will be asked to confirm your email address.
  • Go to your email and click on the mail which has the activation link to comfirm your email.
  • If you are using Facebook or Google to signup, the system will automatically fill the details from your accounts. However, you will still need to confirm your email.
  • Go to your email account you registered with to finish the registration process. That is it; you now have your own free account.
  • You can start modifying your profile as you wish.

    Working with your Jiji account

    With your account registered on the online platform, the next thing is to know how to sell on Jiji account.

  • Click on Profile
  • Then go to settings to view and also modify your account preference and information
  • Fill any details that may be missing, such as address and phone number.
  • You can also change your password, connect social networks to your profile or even set up notifications.
  • Do not forget to add a profile picture to make your ads more attractive.

    Selling on the platform

  • The next step is to add photos of the item. You can add the pictures on most common formats such as PNG, JPG, and JPEG. This step is crucial and should not be ignored. An advert with photos is five times likely to get the attention of potential buyers compared to that without the pictures. You can add the images and arrange them any way you like, and then add the title of the pictures.
  • Finally, you are a few steps away to making money. Review your contact details to ensure interested buyers can get to you quickly. You should also add your location to target customers from nearby areas. Then finish the process by clicking Post.
